About these terms
These terms and conditions apply to heat pump installation services provided by Mt Eden Heat Pumps ("we", "us", "our") to residential customers in Central Auckland. By accepting a quote and proceeding with an installation, you agree to these terms.
Quotes
All quotes are provided in writing following an on-site assessment. Quotes are fixed-price and cover all work described in the written quote, including supply, installation, any additional electrical work identified at assessment, and the Electrical Certificate of Compliance.
Quotes are valid for 30 days from the date of issue. We reserve the right to revise a quote if site conditions differ materially from those assessed, though we will discuss any change with you before proceeding.
A quote does not constitute a contract. A contract is formed when you accept the quote in writing and we confirm a booking date.
Scheduling and access
You are responsible for ensuring access to the property on the agreed installation date. Someone over the age of 18 must be present throughout the installation and for the handover at the end of the job.
If access is not available on the agreed date and we are not notified with at least 24 hours notice, a call-out fee may apply.
Payment
Payment is due in full on completion of the installation. We accept bank transfer and cash. We do not offer payment plans.
For Warmer Kiwi Homes grant-funded installations, the grant amount is deducted from the total and you pay only the agreed balance on the day.
Workmanship guarantee
All installations are covered by a 12-month workmanship guarantee. This covers defects in the installation itself, including pipework, electrical connections, brackets, and fittings. It does not cover damage caused by misuse, modification by others, or normal wear and tear.
Manufacturer warranties on the heat pump unit itself are separate and are handled directly with the manufacturer or their New Zealand distributor.
To make a claim under the workmanship guarantee, contact us by phone or email within the 12-month period. We will attend the property to assess and rectify the issue at no cost if the fault falls within the scope of the guarantee.
Service and repairs
We provide ongoing servicing and repair for heat pumps we have installed. We do not service or repair heat pumps installed by other companies.
Electrical Certificate of Compliance
An Electrical Certificate of Compliance is issued on the day of installation by our registered electricians. This is included in the price of the installation and is a legal requirement under the Electricity (Safety) Regulations 2010. You are responsible for retaining this document for your property records.
Liability
Our liability to you is limited to the cost of the installation. We are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from the installation or from any delay in carrying out the work.
We take reasonable care when working in your home and will make good any damage caused directly by our work. We are not responsible for pre-existing conditions in the property, including substandard wiring, concealed structural issues, or materials not visible at the time of assessment.
Warmer Kiwi Homes grant applications
Where we submit a Warmer Kiwi Homes grant application on your behalf, we do so as a registered provider acting under your authority. You remain responsible for ensuring the information you provide to us for the application is accurate. Any issue arising from inaccurate information provided by you is your responsibility.
Grant approval is subject to EECA eligibility criteria and is not guaranteed. If a grant application is declined, the full installation cost remains payable.
Cancellation
You may cancel a booking with at least 48 hours notice at no charge. Cancellations with less than 48 hours notice may incur a cancellation fee to cover time and materials already committed.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand. Any disputes will be resolved under New Zealand law.
